My current lawyer has been working on my DWI case for a year. But I can't afford to pay him the balance. He suggested a trial and I don't have the money. What happens now? What will happen at my next court date?

Discuss your options with your lawyer. If you can no longer pay him, he may want to withdraw from the case. If that happens, you can ask the court for a court appointed lawyer to replace him.
