Can accussed person have a continuen without a lawyer . Who does this person go to at the courthouse ?

All criminal defendants are entitled to an attorney. If you cannot afford one, the judge will appoint one for you. If you can afford one but have not been able to hire one, the judge should give you time to hire an attorney. You can represent yourself. However this is a bad idea, espceially with a complex charge like DWI.
