intox. manslaughter
i have a question....if one is charged with intox. manslaughter...what happens if the family of the deceased decides not to press charges...what happens...or if they dont show up...what then?

whether charges are dropped or not is not really up to the family. It is up to the state of texas which is represented by the prosecutor. Many prosecutors will listen to what the family wants, but not always.
As far as the family showing up at trial, if they are not needed as witnesses, then there is no impact. They are not needed to convict if the state has all the evidence they need.
