Re: Laws concerning DWI
A first time DWI is a class B misdemeanor, with a punishment range of a minimum of 72 hours up to 180 days in jail, and/or a possible fine of up to $2,000.00. Generally, first time offenders are going to get probation (worst case scenario) with no jail time depending on what county you live in, but you also need to hire a good dwi lawyer to handle your case.
