Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

I live in Texas and obtained my tcleose license back in 2003 but wasnt successful in getting on a department. In sept. of 2004 i got a DWI and it kept me from taking my continuing ed courses to extend my license and it expired. I plead guilty and accepted a 2 year probation and community service. Everythings completed and im still interested in law enforcement. Is there any way to get an expungement without an attorney? It was a first offense DWI with no pryor record and i havent gotten anything since. I heard that i can go to any courthouse and request the proper forms, fill them out then give them to a judge to review.

You could file your own expunction, but you are not eligible. Expunctions are only an option in cases where the charge is dismissed or you are found not guilty. If you plead to the DWI and did probation, then this is a conviction on your record for the rest of your life. If you were able to get a pardon, then you could get this charge expunged, but that is very, very difficult. Talk to a local criminal attorney who handles pardons.
