Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

moving with interlock device

I am moving from Colorado to Texas. My interlock device and restricted license were not court ordered but ordered by the DMV. Will I be able to get a license in TX if I get my device uninstalled before I leave? It is my understanding that an interlock device has to be court ordered in TX and this was a first offense.

Re: moving with interlock device

You need to sign a form at CO DMV that you will not be driving in Colorado for the balance of your restriction. Move to Texas first, then get the restriction lifted. Then get the device removed and get a Texas license.
