Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

Occupational Drivers License

My son lost his drivers license for failure to submit to a breath test after being pulled over for speeding. He was arrested for DUI and taken to jail. His DUI charges were later dismissed. However his drivers license was still revoked for 6 months. He had it taken December of 06. I understand there is a process in which to apply for an occupational license, I haven't been able to find the application anywhere on the internet, and the court clerk said they don't have them. How can we get this taken care of without hiring another attorney? I would really appreciate any information you could give me regarding this matter. He has been unable to work for 3 months and his debt is piling up.

Re: Occupational Drivers License

Hello there,

You need the form and order for an occupational license.

You will also need to have insurance for the vehicle the individual will be driving to present with the motion.

Depending on where you are in Texas, most attorneys charge around five hundred dollars give or take.

If you don't want to hire an attorney you can go to your local law library and do the research to find the forms.

Sincerely,
