I was pulled over by an officer in another jurisdiction than the one he should have been in due to the trailer I was pulling had bad lights. My friend had marijuana in the car so we were both arrested. I was then taken to the county jail to be booked as I was being booked the officer wrote me a ticket for DUI-Minor-Alcohol. He never gave me a breath analyzer or took blood or even asked if I would . I had not been drinking. The ticket had a completely different address on it from where I was arrested at. When I went to court I asked for a jury trial. The judge told me my license had been suspended the day I was arrested. I told her that the officer had not taken my license and I had never received any notice that my license was going to be suspended. This was 6 weeks ago. Can they suspend my license for one without notifying me and two even without a alcohol tests being administered?

I am a Administrative License Revocation and Drunk Driving Defense Lawyer .
If you are in the Austin-area I am happy to consult on your case, otherwise you need to look for a local defense lawyer.
You can have your license suspended under certain circumstances, but your MUST be given notice of the impending suspension so that you have a chance to request a hearing.
Good Luck!
