Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

I received a DWI in January 2009. I hired a lawyer and went to court about 7 times last year. The police officer didn�t show up 4 times and they could not locate the in car video. I informed my lawyer that I was unable to keep paying them and went to court once on my own. At that time the clerk informed me that I was not on the docket for that day and she couldn�t find me in the system. She said I would receive a letter as to when my next court date was. This was 3 months ago. Last week I was pulled over for speeding (only received a warning) by a State Trooper and my license came back clean. What gives?

I can only guess. The clerk should have been able to find you in the system, even if your case was dismissed. If you license came back "clean" that might only mean that it had no suspensions against it. I suggest you contact your attorney and ask about the status of your case.

I agree, you should contact your lawyer about the status of your case. I would also contact the county clerks office and have them check again. Have them check by your name and your cause number. I would also contact your bonding company and have them check the status of your case/bond. The trooper check just means you have no warrant or suspensions. That could mean that your case has been dismissed but it could also mean your case is still pending.
