Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

I received a DWI on 2/10/11 It was a first offense. I received probation, court costs and fines and ordered to have an ignition interlock system installed. I owe $1680.00 in fees and a total of $560.00 for the ignition interlock system. I want to skip my next parole office visit and turn myself in to "burn off" my fees in jail. I am unempolyed and unable to pay these fees. I have complted all of the requirements to include attending an Outpatient Clinic, ($400.00), attending a M.A.D.D. victim impact panel, ($45.00) and completed 50 hours of community service. Finally, my first question. How much time should I expect to serve? I want the court order to end my probation and issue an order to remove the interlock device. This will save me approx. $2000.00. I spoke with an attorney and he will charge me $1000.00 to handle my case. Kind of defeats the purpose. Now for question two. This was NOT my first offence. I received another DWI in another state prior to relocating to Texas. I completed my terms except a positive reading from an in home breath analyzer. When I left the state I had heard nothing from this. Since, I have learned that there is a warrant for my arrest due to my noncompliance. Question? When I turn myself in will they do a check and upon serving my sentence return me to the other state? I want this behind me. I am afraid everytime that I drive that I will be arrested and returned to the other state. Obviously I can not afford an attorney to handle this situation. I have contacted the courts in the other state to see what I need to do to comply. I have called and emailed with no response. Unemployment sent me into this dive to seek alchohol. Alchohol compounded my problems. Obviously. I have quit the drinking and pity party. I want to start anew and do not want to be chased by the past forever. Thank you.

If your case in the other state is a misdemeanor, you will not be held or "turned over" because the states just do not have the money to transport people on misdemeanor warrants. If it is a felony, you will be held & and the other state notified to come get you.
