Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

i was recently arrested on suspicion of dwi, my third, and gave a blood sample rather than blow. Part of my bond agreement was that I have an interlock device installed in my car. My car was inoperable because of a tire blowout, which was why the highway patrolman was even on the scene due to me having to call a tow truck. Now, as I said, I was supposed to have the interlock device put in, but since the car isn't drivable, obviously that hasn't been done yet. Presently, my car is still not up to par, and to top it off, I received a letter from the Texas DPS informing me my license is suspended from 5/11/11 until 5/11/13. I have an attorney but dont feel she has my best interests at heart. I am also on disability. Do you have any advice for me?

GET THE INTERLOCK on whether or not your car is working well or not, or have your lawyer talk to the judge about an in-home breath testing device if you are not driving. Your bond is going to be revoked if you do not strictly follow the rules given that this is your 3rd. (Your license being suspended is a good reason for you to get the in-home device over the interlock, too.)

If you are not satisfied with your attorney, talk with other attorneys about hiring them to substitute in. You do not have to keep the attorney you have but you will have to replace her.
