My son is on probation for DWI he is 25yr. old. He's been in the hospital for over a week now.He missed a court date,I called an explained why he didn't appear.I told them I can bring the hops. p/w to show why he didn't appare, they told me no, that I had to hire a lawyer & they were going to issue a warrant. So why can't I (his father) show proof to why he didn't show up.

If he is on probation, why did he have court? Provide a copy of the proof of the hospitalization to the probation officer he meets with and to the court's liasion officer. This should prevent a warrant from issuing.
