TX DUI Warrant
Last August I was quite rightfully charged with a misdemeanor DWI in Travis County, TX. I was released on personal recognizance and my pro bono attorney got my hearing reset several times over a period of months.
During those months I managed to let my life go to Hell in a flaming handbasket; lost my girl, my drivers license, my home, my car, my client base, everything. Wound up living in a tent on a vacant lot with a bag of clothes and a cell phone, on a diet of foodbank bread and wild onions, with no prospects for the future.
When an offer came to me for a job in KY which included room and board, I saw it as a way out of my desperate circumstance.
Out of fear and denial, I never alerted my attorney or the court. Basically, I ran away. Now the job is wrapping up and it's time to face the music in Texas. What should I do first and what should I expect?
A warrant search yielded this info:

Swallow hard, call your TX attorney, and have a retainer and bond ready. It's not gonna be cheap, but hopefully you can handle the underlying charge in TX without getting a bail-jumping or escape charge. If this happened in a couple counties here in KY, you'd be facing an additional felony charge of escape for fleeing while on bond. I don't know if TX has the same hard nosed approach, but being TX, you can bet they won't let it go easily. Best way to handle is to get your attorney to work out the details before you turn yourself in so you know what's going to happen. Best of luck.
