Legal Question in DUI Law in Texas

hopefully a wrongful arrest

I was out at our football stadium tailgating with some friends (i was not drinking at all), and a girl asked me to pour her a drink. So i picked up a bottle of vodka (not mine) and poured some into her cup. A police officer walked over and arrested me for furnishing alcohol to a minor. Being a minor myself i was wondering if this charge would hold up in court or what the deal is.

*an addition*

my identification was in my friends truck about 40 feet away and the officer did not give me an opportunity to have a friend walk over and get my id before the arrest.

Any help that i could get on here would be greatly appreciated.

Re: hopefully a wrongful arrest

Minors can be charged with furnishing alcohol to other minors.

I've handled many of these cases.

As far as your ID, that really isn't any big deal in regard to your arrest.

Your charge has a punishment range up to a year in jail and up to a four thousand dollar fine.

You need to hire an attorney because you may have defenses that can help you from being convicted.

If you have any further question feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,
