55+ hud housing rules
texas is winter residence a subdivision claims it is following hopa rules the covenant states that one person must be older than 55 and only their spouse may be younger than 55. it states it applies to both ownership and occupancy.is it legal to limit under 55 years just to a spouse? and can the subdivision state who may own property? there is no homeowners association nor any landlord-tenants involved all property is privately owned

The answer is, it is probably yes. However, without looking at the documents, I could not say for sure. There may be an eldercare non-profit in your area. Maybe they could help.
