Assisted Living Facility in a restricted community
I live in a restricted community wherein homeowner association will not allow homeowners to run a business inside the home. Someone told me that there is a federal law that protects the homeowner in opening an assisted living facility. I wanted convert my house into a small assisted living facility but my neighbors told me that if I do that, homeowners will kick me out of my property.

Re: Assisted Living Facility in a restricted community
I know of no federal law that protects you in opening an assisted living facility inside a restricted community. Your best bet is to contact an attorney who represents persons in disputes with homeowners associations. To my knowledge elder law attorneys do not practice in this area. I certainly do not. Good luck
