Assisted Living
My sister and I place my elderly parents in an assisted living facility to recuperate after they both had some medical problems. They are both much better now and would like to leave the facility. I support their decision. My sister and the facility do not and say, by law, my parents must stay if the facility can get one to say so. I'm sure the facility has ''an arragement'' with a physician in the area. What are my parents' rights and how may I help them?

Re: Assisted Living
Your parents may make the decision..as one who is 81...I make decisions..not my wife or children...and by law, if the resident wants to leave the resident can or the facility is kidnapping..Neither you nor your sister can make those decisions unless you are appointed guardian...
See a lawyer in your area..to take action against the facility..
