My grandmother had her identity stolen by her daughter's husband. He changed her name and has been taking her social security checks. Now she is going to be removed from the nursing home due to non-payment. We want to move her back up to IL and don't really know how to go about this. What can we do? The state she lives in is Texas and the checks are going to Florida.

First, one relative needs to be in charge.
This person needs to report this to the police. This is a serious crime.
Second, report this to social security.
This happens frequently to the elderly.
