My Mother is in a nursing home and is now on Hospice. She has Medicare and Medicaid. I am her only child. She has a will and I am the Executor and heir to her estate which is her house. The house was appraised at $97,700 on the last tax statement. Do I need a general Power of Attorney to change her name to mine on her house, property taxes, home owners insurance, utilities or for any other reason? Thank you for your help.

Your mother may need an enhanced life estate deed. BEFORE DOING SO, HAVE A PROFESSIONAL MEDICAID PLANNER REVIEW THE SITUATION. If you don't you're likely to disqualify her from Medicaid.
