Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Texas
music reproduction for resale
Can I reproduce original artist music recordings for resale? I would like to produce CD recordings of various artist's original material for resale to the general public. Can I do this? What steps would I have to take? Thanks.

NO.
That is called copyright infringement.
You need to get permission to make copies of copyrighted material. For CD's, you need to contact the label that produced the CD you want to copy and get permission.
Of course you probably know that copyright infringement is rampant on CDs. But doing it for resell would be much more likely to get you in legal trouble than merely downloading from Napster or Aimster or Morpheus, etc.
