Legal Question in Entertainment Law in Texas

We have recently enrolled our children in a flag football league. Due to medical, we are needing to get a refund for our children. The league is refusing. They state that they dont give refund if you move or change your mind, nothing states for medical.

Is there any legal action that can be taken?

I am assuming in order to respond, that the enrollment papers and enrollment agreement, if any, says medical permission is required but says nothing about a refund if medical permission is denied. That makes it discretionary with the league. So, what you might consider is filing a complaint in small claims court requesting the Judge to order the league to issue you a refund in this situation. I think the league would then issue the refund rather than go to small claims court and be embarrassed by looking like cheats. I also, think the judge will require the league to refund any unearned registration fees. Most likely you would get a partial refund and the league would be awarded a handling and processing fee to compensate it for handling and processing the enrollment to the extent the league did such. Unless this is a significant amount, you should consider whether it is worth the aggravation to get it back. If you do sue, ask the judge to order the league to give you the name of any other similar enrollee who was denied a refund for dropping out due to lack of medical permission. That way you might join forces and make it worthwhile where it might not be for you alone.
