Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I need help, I am 15, I do not want my dad having full custody over me, my mother is in rehab, she will be getting out soon, I want to try moving in with my grandmother and go to school where she lives, Is it possible for my dad to have custody as of right now while i live with my grandmother?

Texas law favors parents over grandparents. However, if you have been living with your grandmother for 6 months or more, she has standing to file a petition for conservatorship of you and seek to be designated as the conservator with the exclusive right to designate your primary residence.

She'll need to hire an attorney to do that.

After she files her petition, she should also file a Motion for the Judge to Interview Child in Chambers so you can tell the judge what you want and why.

Good luck!!
