Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

The 61 days of cooling off is around the corner. I am a mother of 3 children. Can I move to another state to be with family? The ex is going to move there as well but not at the same time frame

It looks like you live in Galveston County, Texas. I don't think there is a "standing order" in Galveston County that would prevent you from moving. However, if your soon-to-be-ex does NOT agree to the move, he or she can probably get the court to order that the children have to stay in that county.

It would be best if your final decree of divorce contained a provision allowing you to move to the other state so that there would be no blow-back when you move.

Good luck!!
