Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
In the last 13 months, my daughter has received 2 months of court-ordered child support from her ex-husband (he was to begin Jan '12). He is no longer paying, but has told our 5 year-old granddaughter (in our presence; we have it recorded) that he is saving that money to spend on her when she comes to visit him so he'll know that it is actually being spent on her. He has actually pulled the bills out of his wallet & counted them in front of us! One lawyer told us that as long as he pays just one month a year, there's nothing we can do. Other people we know tell us that when they don't receive their cs, they have the men picked up. What can we do, other than have the AG send delinquent notices? We appreciate any answers!!

Your daughter needs to go to the AG and and open an enforcement action. He can be found in contempt and jailed once he is the equivalent of 3 months behind. (His behavior is outrageous in front of his child, and is further evidence of the order terms prohibiting disparaging conduct). The AG will pursue him - but it will be a slow process. She should retain an attorney to do this more quickly. Good luck.
I don't know where you live but here in Houston, Texas the Courts throw dead-beats in jail all the time for missing child support payments.
I absolutely agree with Attorney Langford!
