Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

In 2008 my wife and I divorced. Unfortunately I never had a lawyer - everything was done by my x-wife's lawyer. It was arranged that she would receive $800.00 per month. My work varies and sometimes it is a bit difficult to come up with $800 - something she refuses to accept. Now, and my questions is related, she wants to garnish my social security as well as the 20 hours I work per week in teaching. Can she garnish my social security? Her lawyer told her yes. I read that social security in Texas is exempt. What is the answer?

Why is she "receiving" $800 per month? Is it child support? Spousal support? Equalization of the division of property?
