My 7 year old wants to change his name to my husbands name...my sons biological father has not been in his life since he was 8 months old and my husband wants to adopt him how can I do that?

You will need to file a Petition for Change of Name in the county where your child lives. Texas law requires that the Petition requesting the name change be served by a constable or process server on each parent of the child who has not had their parental rights terminated, or any managing conservator or guardian of the child.
