Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

19 year old out of control

Can I kick my 19 year old daughter, who is out of control, out of my house legally? And if so, how do I go about it? Do I have to use an eviction notice?

First, I'd call the police or sheriff in your county and ask what to do.

If the kid has been making threats, be sure to let the police know.

Second, you can change the locks on the door. However, since that was his/her home, he/she can break into the home and will not get arrested. Be sure to ask the cops their policy on this matter.

Third, if the cops recommend it, then file eviction. I assume the person has no lease.

I think you could get a protective order if she is sufficently out of control that you fear for your safety and security.
