Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

16 year old in need of help

I have a 16 year old girl that I have been babysitting since she was 2. Her parents are separated, together, seperated, together and then on Sunday, her dad (adopted) tore the house up and locked them in. Now her parents won't let her talk to my family. She wants to move out. What can she do and where does she stand? She wants to move in with me and my family.

Thank you,

Leah Dickens

You need to contact DHS - CPS. Right now.

A 16 year old minor child has no rights.

Even though you've baby-sat her for years, you have no rights to ask the court to give you custody.

If the child is in danger, call CPS or the police right now.
