Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My 17 year old granddaughter wants to live with me. In Texas can she legally leave the home of her mom and step-father without legal emancipation, and if she does can they legally turn her in as a runaway?

The short answer to your question is barring a court order granting you custody or guardianship, the parents have custody of the child. If there is a court order and you can be sued for interfering with a court order, especially if the parents are not notified in writing. You need to see a family law attorney in your area to help you out with this.
