At 18, your child is legally an adult; you know, can die at war but not drink. Anyway, you should contact the facility that you would want to get your child into and they will certainly be able to tell you your options because they want to help you and get paid. You can get your child out of school by cutting off their finances, but that might not be the best approach. You probably are frustrated and need some guidance; so contact several local or regional facilities and you can also get help at the Office of the Attorney General I belive one of the Divisions covers this type of issue. Good luck!

As many people as there are in the world, is how many opinions there are on this subject. At 18, I think your only control is financial. It might be the only thing that gets his attention -- and now may be your only window of opportunity. I would absolute cut him off completely. Then when he reports to rehab, and maintains a legal lifestyle, would help him financially (although at that point he might have become a man and be self-supporting).
