Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

16 year old had sex with 20 year old

My 16 yr. old daughter confessed last

week to having sex for the first time

with a 20 year old. There was also

marijuana involved.

Is this legal and if not, what can

steps can I take to begin legal action.

What category of law does this fall

under and are there organizations

who can help me out as far as fees

go as my economical situation is

tight. I live in Harris County.

For a 20 yr old to have sex with a 16 year old is statutory rape - a felony. Regardless of whether she said yes or not, she is not of legal age to consent. Contact the Harris Co. DA's office.
