Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

My 17 year old sister law has been living with me since July 2010 because her aunt who was her legal guardian gave up her guardianship to me and my husband. Her mother has multiple sclerosis and the father can not be found. I take care of her and I am her payee for the social security check that she receives as well. My question is can I add her to my health insurance because I am her guardian? I don't qualify to get her Medicaid because of my income. I don't know how to obtain legal gaurdianship after her guardian gave it up and put it in writing and had it notarized.

Ask your employer if you can add her. It's up to your employer.
