Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
My 14 year old son is accused of inappropriately touching my 11 year old daughter. My daughter said something in school and a girl reported a different story to the principal. My daughter and son were questioned. The girl who reported the incident is mentally unstable and has a history of making false allegations to get attention; the investigator has already said they do not believe her. The investigator is telling me to take my son out of school and take him to the juvenile jail to be "booked." He has not seen a judge and they say he may stay in jail for who knows how long until a judge can see him. How is this possible? What rights do I have? Do I HAVE to take him?
