Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I have a 16 year-old daughter. Her mother has custodial guardianship of her. This last week her mother physically attacked her and my daughter now wants to move in with me. My ex-wife in not a reasonable person and has even kept my daughter away from me for the last 5 years. My question is how do I go about getting her school records without her mother signing her out of school so that I can enroll her in school where I live?

You need to consult with an attorney before moving forward on your own. An attorney needs to review the existing court order controlling conservatorship and othe rights relating to your child. A Court will generally follow the wishes of a child as old as 16, but you need to follow the proper procedures and have the Court change the conservatorship order. I would be glad to sit down with you and analyze the steps you need to take in moving forward. Please contact me at 713-600-500 if you want to discuss your options.
