Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I am 17 years of age and trying to get child support from my mother and father who have kicked me out. My grandparents have taken me in again and they have been paying for my schooling and any other needs i have . I lived on an off with my mother for the past two years and my father for a total of five months of my hole life, he came into my live when i was 13 and it was every now and then . I start college in januray of next year and they wont help . My grandparents are disabled and low money recievers. My father pays money to mother for child support but we do not recieve any of the money she gets from my father. Im trying to get child support sent to my grand mother from both mother and father. I want my mother and father taken back to court for m any reasons though. My mother is careless and brings men an out of the house adn smoked weed at one point i raised her kids. They with me most the time. I cooked and helped them, i was there sister an mother. They got taken away from our mother and placed with there reall father. I no longer see barely. They are my everything and want to be apart of there lives. But there grand mother an my ex step father hate me for getting on the stand in court for my mother . My father is never around but has money for his girl friend and all their toys and cars. I need deserve to get help from them . I need help more than ever . Were do i start ? What do i do ? How can i stay in my siblings lives? Who can my grandparents get child support or help when we cannt aford a lawyer ?? I NEED HELP BAD. MY ONE WISH IS TO REPAY MY GRANDPARENTS FOE EVERYTHING. I CANT DO THAT UNLESS I GET MY COLLEGE DAGREE . AND I CANT GET THAT WITHOUT CHILD SUPPORT FROM PARENTS . PLEASE HELP ME ANYONE.

1. You don't get child support. You are the "child," and the support isn't payable to you.
2. The child support payments can be "redirected" to the grandparents. Contact the Attorney General.
3. Are you still in high school? It makes a difference.
4. If you're planning to go to college, you need to learn the difference between "their" and "there."
In Texas, child support ends when the child turns 18 or graduates from high school. There is no child support for college.
Here is the harsh reality. When you turn 18, you are an adult and your parents are no longer obligated to support you.
If you have limited funds, then go to your school counselor and fill out the forms and you will qualify for financial aid for college.
If your grades are good there are scholarships, grants and loans for college.
