Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I'm 17 years old and I live in Texas. I moved out of my mothers house in January and moved in with my aunt and uncle, which my mother has approved. My mother will not sign over gardianship to my aunt and uncle becasue she wants the child support that my father is going to be required to send her in May when my older Brother graduates. My Aunt and Uncle have attempted to contact her about her signing over her rights to just medical, and school issues, and she said she would back in January, but that has yet to happen. My mother hasn't been sending money, or even trying to contact me in any way, and is only in contact with my aunt and uncle when they call her for medical issues. I'm looking into getting amancipated, and my father's agreed to it, but my mother won't. So I'm trying to figure out the best way to approach the situation.

Your aunt and uncle should go talk to the local Attorney General NOW. There is a motion that can be filed in the Court (it should be filed TOMORROW) which simply asks the Judge to order that the child support payments be redirected to the people who are actually taking care of the "child" (you) - it doesn't ask for "guardianship" or change of custody.
If your Dad is paying child support, it should go to the people who are actually buying your groceries.
