Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

I am 20 years old and I have a 15 year old brother. Our mother passed away on July 30th. What actions do I take to become his legal guardian?

First, don't use the term "guardian". In Texas that is totally different than being "primary conservator".

Filing a case in family law court would probably be the best way to go.

If you don't have any money, try Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program at 713.228.0732.

My deposit for you would be $750 is no other person is involved. If there is a father out there that needs to be notified of this lawsuit, then my deposit would be $900. That is just to start. Then you would make monthly payments to me. How much total? Depends on how much work I have to do.

Good luck!
