Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
3 yr absence
I read on the internet that you can be considered divorced if you abandon your marriage for 3 yrs. Is that true and what are the responsibilities?

No it isn't true.
There is some language regarding failure to file a divorce after a common-law marriage which may be your issue -- it is in the Texas Family Code, which is available online.
