Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

If my 17 yr old son is going to move out of his mother's house to go to boarding/counseling school, do I still have to pay her child support when he leaves?. He will finish high school within the next 12 months.

Assuming you are under a court order to pay child support, the obligation to pay child support continues until the child reaches 18 or graduates from high school, which ever is the later date.

Once that date occurs, you will need to contact the court and the attorney generals' office to notify them of that fact. Suggest you contact an attorney. You may need to file a motion to modify the court order.
