I don't really understand your question. The moment you turn 18 in Texas you are an adult. If you want to re-state your question, one of the lawguru attorneys will try to answer it.

Why is it hard to forgive him? I don't know you, but all children need and want the love of their parents and the people around them. If he was not involved in your life for 17 years, he is a "stranger" to you. You need to seek counseling so that you can heal this hurt in your heart. It's NOT for him -- the counseling would be for YOU!

Hopefully, you are surrounded by other people that love and care for you. Embrace their love and enjoy those relationships.

As adults, we get to CHOOSE the people around us and we also develop our own "family" of friends that nuture and support us.
