Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Abandonment and Adoption

I am divorced. Two of my 4 children belong to my ex husband. He has not practices his visitation rights in a year and a half. He does pay child support by force. My present husband of 4 years loves my children and wants to adopt them. I just need to know if I could have my ex husbands rights terminated because of abandonment so my husband can adopt the children.

Re: Abandonment and Adoption

You can initiate an action to terminate the parental rights of your ex based upon best interests of the children. lack of visitation and failure to pay child support are reasons for termination.
