Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Abandonment

My boyfriend is trying to get a divorce and has not seen his wife in over ten years. What is the cheapest and quickest way to get that done? There are no children or property involved.

Re: Abandonment

Based on what you have written, he needs to contact a local law firm to assist him with filing for a divorce. Generally, if there is an agreement on the division of community property and no child involved, an un-contested divorce can be completed for a flat attorney's fee. Note that there probably will be additional expenses associated with the divorce process (e.g., service of citation, filing fees, etc.). If my local law firm can assist you or your friend with this legal issue or any other legal matter, please contact my legal assistant Jennifer ([email protected]) to arrange for an initial consultation.

Re: Abandonment

He should retain a lawyer to file for divorce by substituted service. There are extra costs regarding the service and the ad litem, but it should still be very reasonable.
