Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

abusive husband

My Husband is verbally and emotionally abusive to me - his anger is nearing being out of control and I do not know how much longer I can handle beign yelled at. Our kids are starting to really show signs - the oldest has an axiety disorder and the youngest is becoming violent. What do I do to get him out of the house and get custody of my kids while having him be financially responsible? I stopped working and going to school to be a full time mom. I don't even know where to start.

Re: abusive husband

I am not a woman, so I am not the best one to answer this, but some people are not available this time of year. Try to find a woman's shelter in your area. Texas Women's University is in Denton County and could be a place to start. Try the local county bar association also. Often they have a group of pro bono lawyers to help you. Please do it now or first thing tomorrow. Sometimes the holidays are very difficult for persons with your husband's problems. I don't want to read about you and your children in the paper. Good Luck.<><
