Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Adding Bio-Father to Birth certificate

I have a final order giving me solecustody of my daughter. It was found thru DNA that I am the Bio-father of my daughter. This was done in the custody process. There is a persons name on her birth cert. that was found not to be the bio-father. I recently attended to get this name removed and my name added. But I was tolded that this was not possible because the final did not state that I was the bio-father, so they (vital statitics) would not remove the name and add my name stating that I was in fact the bio-father. So, my question is ''How would I modify my Final Order to read that I am the bio-father and state the reasons why?''

Note: The way the order reads now is, --name removed---name removed--the father of said child.''

There is no mention of fact that I was found to be the logical father through DNA testing.

I was informed by Vital Statitics that this will be the only way that they will remove this name and add my name.

I really need to get this done as soon as possible, so any help would be most appreciated.

Re: Adding Bio-Father to Birth certificate

You would have to file a motion to modify the original order to correct the statement that some other person is the father of the child.
