Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Additional arrears after court order and judgment

My ex quit his job approximately 9 months after the Court ordered him to pay child support of $150.00 per week with $17 per week to go toward approximately $20,000 arrearage. He did odd jobs for about a year and then went back to work with the same company. They are now withholding the child support again, but what happens to the year of support when he was not working. Do I have to go back to Court for another contempt order on the additional arrearage? My son graduates in May but will not turn 18 until August. Is there a time limit?

Yes there is a time-limit. You need to file before he turns 18.

Good luck!
