Get Away to Adopt

I am 17 years old and I am pregnant and I wanted to place the unborn baby for adoption but the father of the baby won't consent to an adoption. The baby is a result of a date rape that can't be proven. I want to move to Utah and have my parents adopt the baby, is that legal?

The biological father has a legal right to notice of any proceedings regarding the child. If he objects, then he can present his evidence in court.

In order to stop him, you would have to terminate his parental rights, which is not an easy task.

I would advise you to move to Utah now, and retain an attorney immediately in Utah, to prepare the situation prior to the child's birth.
