Legal Question in Family Law in Texas
I was adopted in 1972 and my parents went through a closed adoption process with the help of a local attorney who is now deceased. Is there any way I could obtain records of my adoption from someone and if so, from whom?

Texas law has changed. Once you are 18, you can pay a small fee and receive a copy of your original birth certificate. I don't remember the website.
Go to any major search engine and look up State of Texas adoptee birth certificate.
I'm an adoptee and I did it years ago. It costs around $25. There is a form availabe on-line through the State of Texas website to fill out and send to Austin to get your original birth certificate. It take a few weeks.
It is also possible to "open" your adoption file. However, some judges don't like to do it.
Before you jump into it, you might want to talk to me. I charge $2 per minute to talk. Email me directly at [email protected].
