Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Adoption

I was adopted in 1979, the adoption was considered ''closed''. However, I would like to find some information on my biological mother, is there anything I can to do to find information on her? If I hired a lawyer, is there anything he/she would be able to do for me?

Re: Adoption

Since you are over the age of 18, you can have your adoption file opened.

I was adopted and I did it. I did not hire an attorney to help me. It did cost a little bit of money but not much.

I can't remember the exact website. Go to a major search engine and look around. I'd look under adult adoptee, open adoption records, etc.

If you want any more information, I charge $100 an hour to talk. Based on your zip code it looks like you live in Houston.

I urge you to talk to me if you plan to try to meet your bio. family.

My "reunion" was not a happy or pleasant event.

Most of my friends that have sought out their bio. family have NOT had rewarding or fulfilling reunions. Some have had family members try to borrow money or move in with them!
