Adoption

My ex hasnt tried to call or see his daugther for almost 5 years.I have remarried and he would like to adopt my daugther.I dont know where my ex is and icant find him by child support because they cant find him and he hasnt payed in 5 years.What I want to know is how my new husband can adopt my daugther with out my ex signing his rights away.My ex doesnt get visition cause of abuse..thank you for your time

Re: Adoption

You cannot have two legal dads so the biological father's

rights need to be terminated. This can be done voluntarily

(him signing rights away) or involuntarily. The process is

too complicated to get cover all the necessary steps. I would

recommend obtaining an attorney for the necessary

paperwork.
