Legal Question in Family Law in Texas

Adoption Contract

I have a contract with a lawyer for an adoption of a 4 year old I have had since she was one. The contract was with me and my Husband. She had stated on the contract that it would be $2500.00 and additional fees would be pro bono. During this time me and my husband separated and now our divorced. He released her to continue to represent me in the case. She is now charging me numerous fees and I have already paid her $1500 more dollars and she stills wants $2500 more. SHe said we misled her and that the contract is void. We were together and I did not know my husband was leaving for another woman at the time. All my daughter knows as a mother is me and I am just trying to to the best thing for her. I want to finish the adoption but being that I am now a single mother the numerous fees are putting a burden on our home. Is there anything I can do to enforce the contract?
